EVF Rear Viewfinder Eyepiece Falling Off, Is Loose Or Broken

Canon XF300 EVF Viewfinder Problems:

Your EVF or electronic viewfinder is starting to feel loose, is very loose, or has completely come off the camcorder. You will often hear a rattling noise of the screws and broken plastic pieces ratting around inside the eyepiece and camcorder. You may also see the internal ribbon or flexible circuit board of the view finder after it has fallen off. The hinge of the eye piece may or may not still be attached to the camcorder.

Solution:

This is a common problem on the Canon XF300 video camera, that is caused by the internal screws loosening up and causing the rear EVF to become loose and eventually falling off the camcorder.

If you notice your electronic viewfinder is starting to become loose it is very important to have this problem looked at. We have seen multiple occasions that not addressing this issue will cause further problems. When the eyepiece is loose, this means that you have loose screws rattling around is the camcorder, that ultimately could cause a short.

Dead, Not Powering Up

Solution:

Powering problems with your Canon camcorder can be something easy or tricky. Unfortunately there is no way to know until you open the camcorder and perform the necessary diagnostics to find out why the camcorder went dead. Dirt or Debris In The Lens Causing Spotting In The Picture or Front Glass Is Scratched

Canon XF300 Debris In Lens Problems:

When playing back footage that you had just recorded, you may see spots or spotting on the recorded picture. Sometimes you may see this as you’re physically recording and the problem may seem worse if you are shooting in bright conditions.

Solution:

The first thing to do is to inspect the front glass of the lens. Make sure that it is clean and free of any dust or debris. To clean the front glass on the lens use a very soft microfiber cloth. Once cleaned if you continue to see spots are spotting in the picture your lens may have to be internally cleaned. If the front surface of the lens is scratched, that portion of the lens will need to be replaced.
