Problems and Solutions

Camcorder will not power up with the battery or the AC power. Camcorder is dead. The camcorder will power up for a split second and then shut down immediately.

We recommend first doing a hard reset to your camcorder. The reset button is located under your LCD screen where your playback controls are located. You will see a small, hole marked “reset”. Using a small pointed object such as a paper clip, press the button for 3-5 seconds. You will know that you have reset the camcorder, if it prompts you to set the clock.

If the camcorder is still having powering problems, the camcorder will need to be shipped in for repair. Fill out the our Repair Order Form, and ship the camcorder into us for a free estimate. Mechanical problems or going into an error code such as C:31:23 or C:31:22. The camcorder may not allow you to record and is displaying an error message saying “The tape is locked – check the tab”.

These error codes display when there is a mechanical problem with the camcorder or a tape problems. The first step is to try a new fresh tape. We would also recommend resetting the camcorder. This is done by removing the battery or ac power, waiting 10 seconds, and then reapplying the battery or ac power. Test the camcorder again using the new fresh tape.
